Sandra (A Voz Balanco) - Samba 35 MM (1961)
PAWAL ST-P-70016 (Stereo version)
One of the first albums ever that I have found on Loronix was Sandra's only career album. I also re-posted it from Loronix into another reality some 5-6 years ago. Last night I received it in a STEREO version from Edson Mendes, accompanied with a text about Sandra and some additional infromation about this album as well as two bonus tracks.
Here is Edson's complete text:
Sandra was a night club singer that sang with pianist and composer Newton Mendonça in boites such La Boheme and Carroussel, in Copacabana (RJ). She also worked at Djalma Ferreira's Drink.
With this album Samba 35mm, Sandra won the "Sambista - singer female newcomer" award from the Brazilian Association of Record Critics in 1961. But a few days before receiving the award in December of that year, Sandra died in a car crash. The cab she was traveling in skidded on the streetcar rails in Vila Isabel and crashed into a lamp-post.
As a highlight, this disc features two exclusive compositions by Newton Mendonça: "Nuvem" (the only one recording) and "O Tempo não Desfaz" (released in the previous year by singer Geny Martins).
01. Caminhando (Luis Bandeira)
02. Dói... Dói... Dói... (João Mello)
03. Tão Bom (Hercílio Silva - Edgardo Luiz)
04. O Tempo Não Desfaz (Newton Mendonça)
05. Devagar Com A Louça (Luis Reis - Haroldo Barbosa)
06. Era Bom (Hianto de Almeida - Macedo Netto)
07. Se Você Gostou (Fernando Cesar - Carlos Imperal)
08. A Sandália Da Nêga (a.k.a. Deixa a Nega Gingar) (Luiz Claudio)
09. Sem Bossa (Wenceslau Netto)
10. Luluzinha Bossa Nova ( Ronaldo Boscoli - Roberto Menescal)
11. O Maioral (Sylvio Vianna)
12. Nuvem (Newton Mendonça)
Bonus tracks (from Celso Murilo's album Férias no Drink - Pawal 20014 -1961):
13. Menino desce daí (Paulinho Nogueira)
14. Chiclete com banana (Gordurinha - Almira Castilho)
Technical data (incomplete):
Produção: Américo Raimundo Nogueira Lima
Arranjos: Celso Murilo e Marco Ruppi
Piano e órgão: Celso Murilo
Baixo: Tião Marinho
Bateria: Fernando Careca
Saxofone: Marco Ruppi

TRIVIA FOR THE DISTINGUISHED CONNAISSEUR by Brazilliance:
Tenor saxophonist Marco Ruppi aka Marko Rupe reutilized all arrangements except “Nuvem” the following year on the album Sambalanço credited as Orquestra Moderna de Sambas. For comparison you may listen here and here.
More of Sandra’s fine talent can be found on Celso Murilo’s ISTO É O DRINK from 1960 with her performing exquisite renditions of Poema das Mãos and A Tua Volta.

The Fire Boys - Musica para a Jovem Guarda (N/D)
SBA/Musipop M-ADS 001
The previously to me unknown Jovem Guarda band The Fire Boys seemed to have only this one career album, released at an unknown date by SBA/Musipop.
After digging a bit deeper, the first impression turned out to be completely wrong as The Fire Boys are just an extra project false name of The Fevers, whose discography consists of compactos, albums, extra projects, collections and participations in a huge number, so huge that I gave up the idea of counting it..
The compositions performed on their Parallel Realities premiere are:
01. A Casa D'irene (Francesco Maresca / Francesco Pagano)
02. Emoção (Roberto Carlos / Erasmo Carlos)
03. Taboo (Margarita Lecuona)
04. Parei... Olhei (Rossini Pinto)
05. Wooly Bully (Domingo Samudio)
06. Letkiss Jenka (Rauno Lehtinen)
07. Alguém Na Multidão (Rossini Pinto)
08. Ai De Mim (All Of Me) (Seymour Simons / Gerald Marks / Vrs. Neusa de Souza)
09. Quando o Sol Despertar (Almir Bezerra / Pedrinho da Luz)
10. Help (John Lennon / Paul McCartney)
11. Shame And Scandal In The Family (Huon Donaldson / Slim Henry Brown)

Eu sou Nora Ney ...e canto (1957)
Continental LPP 57
This 10' LP by Nora Ney was one of the first recordings I posted in the first side branch of parallel realities some 8 years ago, wrapped in a cover found in another reality.
Here it is again, in form of a transfer by Pedro, with all covers and label scans, which means that this time you may also read the linear notes.
I will here just note that four of the tracks are collected from 78 rpm albums, while four were previously unreleased: Se and Risque + Franqueza and Chove lá fora which were simultaneously released also as 78 rpm):

Pompilio Diniz - Poemas do Nordeste
RGE RLP - 200.000
The first album in the planned RGE series of poetry features texts from the book: Mane Gonçalo e o Nordeste by Pompilio Diniz.
Needles to say that, although I understand a bit of Portuguese when I see it written, I can not tell you anything about Pompílio Diniz's poetry but Helcio Carvalho de Castro can and he has done it in the linear nots.
There is also an easier and better way for you to experience Pompilio's work by listening to the poems.
If you understand Portuguese, of course:
01. Festa de Inleição
02. O Ecripe
03. A Duença
04. Fuxico de Muié
05. Mussambê
06. Pruquê
07. Maria
08. Preposta de Cabôco
09. Pesadêlo
10. Supertição
11. Boi de Ingenho
As expected, the poet is presenting his poems himself

Instantaneos de Helio Paiva E A Musica de Ary Barroso (1957)
Sinter SLP 1714
Singer Hélio Paiva has had so far only one song (Canta Maria) presented in this parallel reality. It was part of the Souvenir Musical (1957) Fantasia/Philips showcase, posted almost a year ago.
Now he has his real career album premiere (and, unfortunately, also his goodbye) as the album presented today is not only his first, but also his last.
Unfortunately, as his rendition of Ary Barroso's music is really good as you will hear for yourselves if you download this album and get a chance to enjoy:
01. Faixa de Cetim (Ary Barroso)
02. Canta Maria (Ary Barroso)
03. Caboca (Ary Barroso)
04. Rei Nagô (Ary Barroso / Marcos Sandoval)
05. Hoje É Novo Dia (Ary Barroso)
06. Isto Aqui O Que É (Ary Barroso)
07. Tu (Ary Barroso)
08. Quero Dizer-te Adeus (Ary Barroso)
09. Chula-ô (Ary Barroso)
10. No Rancho Fundo (Ary Barroso / Lamartine Babo)
Looks like Ary Barroso liked Hélio's rendition of his songs as the back cover features not only a photograph of Ary Barroso together with Hélio, but also Ary is the writer of the linear notes.
I must stress the fact that, regardless of his vocal qualities, Hélio Paiva's mustache can not compete with Miltinho's as Miltinho is simply the first of all mustached gentlemen.
A TRIBUTE TO ARY BARROSO

Arnaldo Meirelles, Sua Harmonica e Seu Conjunto - Nao Me Sais do Pensamento (1959)
RCA Victor BBL 1029
Harmônica player Arnaldo Meirelles has recorded over 40 78 rpm albums during the period from 1931 to 1956, but only this one career album with which he is presented today on Parallel Realities.
As you might have guessed, this is also my first encounter with Arnaldo Meirelles and it means that I could tell you only what I just read about him in the back cover text which is, instead of the usual second hand testimonies, this time written by Arnaldo himself and about himself he knows probably more than most people know about him.
In short: We have the pleasure of enjoying Arnaldo Meirelles' textual and musical presentation of himself.
The musical presentation consists of:
01. Não Me Sais do Pensamento (Arnaldo Meirelles / Moacir Braga) com Arnaldo Meirelles / Mariano da Silva
02. Faz Que Vai Mas Não Vai (Arnaldo Meirelles)
03. Cruzeiro (Arnaldo Meirelles)

Os Balanceiros - Sucessos No 2 (1965)
Fantasia/Philips FLP 2005
The second volume of the Santa Claus listed albums by the mysterious Os Balanceiros which found their places on the list the moment I heard their music for the first time about a year ago.
Their albums are all called the same: Sucessos... and there are five of them, identified so far, which leaves two more to be brought to light.
The musicians of the band have not been identified yet and chances are that their names will remain a secret.
What is not a secret is that the compositions are rendered brilliantly:
01. My Boy Lollipop (Morris Levy / Johnny Roberts)
02. Reza (Eduardo Lobo / Ruy Guerra)
03. Sabor A Mi (Álvaro Carrillo)
04. Calhambeque (Road Hog) (Gwen / Loudermilk)
05. Obsesión (Pedro Flores)
06. Twist no Samba de Branco (João Roberto Kelly)
07. Trem das Onze (Adoniran Barbosa)
08. Michael (Dave Fisher)
09. Rancho da Praça Onze (João Roberto Kelly / Chico Anysio)
10. Perfidia (Alberto Dominguez)
11. Nanã (Moacir Santos / Mario Telles)
12. Meglio Stasera (It Had Better Be Tonight) (Henry Mancini / Johnny Mercer)

Lago Azul (1955)
Columbia LPCB 35008
While the ladies Zezé Gonzaga and Ellen de Lima are quite well known, Helena Ribeiro and Mary Duarte are not.
As you might have guessed, my passion for obscure cantoras got inflamed immediately after receiving this various artists Columbia showcase and hearing them sing and the search for more songs by them or at least more information started.
The results are as follows: Helena Ribeiro has participated on three more various artists compilations and has released two 78 rpm albums, while Mary Duarte (or Mari Duarte) has, beside the album presented today, two more various artists compilations (listed under Mari Duarte) and 12 78 rpm records from 1951 to 1956 (listed under Mary Duarte).
Possibly there is more and hopefully we will sooner of later have the chance to enjoy also other songs by both of them.
Of course, beside the four above mentioned ladies, the other four tracks are sung by four gentlemen, so the complete list looks like this:
1. Lago Azul (Waldir Rumbelsperger / Walter Gonçalves) Bolero - Ellen de Lima
2. Tu Só Tu (Carolina Cardoso de Menezes / Armando O. Fernandes) Samba-canção - Cauby Peixoto
3. Teu Olhar (Marco Antônio Prates) Samba-canção - Helena Ribeiro
4. Mar Negro (Am Schwarzen Meer) (Léo Rodi / Vrs. Haroldo Barbosa) Tango - Déo
5. Sorri (Smile) (Charles Chaplin / Geoffrey Parsons / John Turner / Vrs. João de Barro) Beguine - Ivan de Alencar
6. Sedução (Carlito / Nazareno de Brito) Samba - Zezé Gonzaga

Do MPB-4 para Noel Rosa - Feitico Carioca (1987)
СРЕЋНА НОВА 2017!
Continental 1.01.404.322
Apart from a compacto and a few participations, after all these years I am finally posting a career album by the famous MPB-4.
Almost all of their 30+ albums have been released also on CD (including this one), but contrary to what I thought, it looks like not all are copyright protected as Feitiço Carioca has been successfully uploaded to Depositfiles and so far nothing nasty has happened.
Anyway, take this information with a grain of salt and don't postpone the download for tomorrow, as tomorrow, instead of a link, you might run into the absurd "DOWNLOAD YESTERDAY" advice.
As you realized immediately, this album is dedicated to Noel Rosa and contains renditions of his compositions:
01. Pierrô Apaixonado (Noel Rosa / Heitor dos Prazeres)
02. Quem Ri Melhor (Noel Rosa)
03. Não Tem Tradução (Noel Rosa)
04. Pela Décima Vez (Noel Rosa)
05. Quem Dá Mais (Noel Rosa)
06. Com Que Roupa (Noel Rosa)
07. Filosofia (Noel Rosa / André Filho)
08. Feitio de Oração (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
09. Conversa de Botequim (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
10. Último Desejo (Noel Rosa)

Severino Filho, Seu Coral e Sua Orquestra - Rio de Janeiro, Gosto de Voce Vol. 2 (1960)
Polydor LPNG 4062
Looking out of the window and enjoying the frozen Belgrade streets scenery with temperatures deeply below zero and without any sign that they might rise soon, I can clearly understand why Severino Filho likes Rio de Janeiro.
I also can not avoid shivering when imagining the the young, lightly dressed lady on the front cover in Belgrade this winter.
Anyway, warming up is possible for all by listening to:
01. Não Tenho Lágrimas (Max Bulhões / Milton de Oliveira)
02. Marimba (Agustín Lara)
03. Leblon (Alberto Paz / Severino Filho)
04. My Melancholic Baby (E. Burnet / G. A. Norton / Maybelle / E. Watson)
05. Luar de Paquetá (Freire Júnior / Hermes Fontes)
06. Lover (Richard Rodgers / Lorenz Hart)
07. Cidade de São Sebastião (Wilson Batista / Antônio Nássara)
08. Singin' In The Rain (Nacio Herb Brown / Arthur Freed)
09. Meu Rio de Janeiro (Oscar Bellandi / Nelson Trigueiro)
10. Carioca 1954 (Ismael Netto / Antônio Maria)
11. Maracanã (Severino Filho)
12. Noites do Rio (José Maria de Abreu / Alberto Ribeiro)
About this release I can not tell you anything that you don't already know, but Jason Fonseca can do it, so you may choose to read his text which is printed on the back cover.

Charanga Radio - Um Baile... Antigamente (1958)
Rádio 0072-GV
Completing Charanga Rádio discography with the first volume of the Um Baile... Antigamente series of two.
Maybe there is more, but I am unaware of it.
This time a list of musicians who are part of Charanga Rádio is included and it looks like this:
Zé Américo da Fonseca (Tuba)
Baiano (Violino)
Índio (Banjo)
Arthur Duarte (Violão)
Trinca (Bateria)
Nelson M. Santos (Trombone)
João Bastista (Ganzá e Reco-reco)
Ercilio da Silva (Prato)
Roberto Pinheiro (Pandeiro)
I strongly suspect Banjo player Índio to be our old friend Índio do Cavaquinho, also included as one of the composers in the track list:
01. Casamento de Mocinha (Antônio R. Trindade)
02. Marcando a Quadrilha (Tradicional / Adpt. Mário Zan)
03. Rancheira Em Aramarí (Baiano da Rabeca)

Jane Simone - Em Cada Novo Amor (1963)
Continental PPL 12076
About singer Jane Simone's existence I became aware a very short time ago when I received her only career album from Edson Mendes.
Beside her music and covers, inside the package was also a short text about her written by Edson who correctly assumed that Jane must be completely unknown to me:
"Jane Simone is the stage name of Janes Sereno Lopes.
Born in Cataguases (MG), she moved to Rio de Janeiro
She was a host of radio programs, poetess and author of a book called "Cantada Feminina".
She was also a singer and songwriter, with the album "Em Cada Novo Amor", her only LP, released by Continental in 1963.
Jane Simone passed away in 2014."
Enjoy:
01. Em Cada Novo Amor (Romeo Nunes / Carlitos)
02. Mulher (Normando / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03. Amor no Samba (Normando)
04. Só Sem Ninguém (Almeida Rego)
05. Cansei de Conversa (Jane Simone)
06. Tu Voltarás (João Negrão / Herolt Miranda)
07. Não Quero Rosas (Fernando Dias)
08. Tudo de Mim (Jair Amorim / Evaldo Gouveia)
09. Para Não Sofrer (Tom Jobim)
10. Canção do Amor Que Virou Você (Cândido dos Santos / Dirceu Graeser)
11. Brincando de Amar (Guerra Peixe / Célio Moreira)
12. Vai (Servulo Odilon / Fernando César)

Mozart Brandao e Sua Orquestra - Reglame esta Noche (1960)
RCA Victor BBL 1094
If you type "Mozart" into Memoria Musical's musicians search you get a list of results outnumbered only by results you get when searching for "Zezinho".
One of these Mozarts is Mozart Brandão who was featured in this parallel reality only as a participant but never with a career album, which is not surprising as he has, as far as I know, released only two: The one presented today and another one released in '65 by Entré/CBS.
Unfortunately, not one of these twelve compositions was composed by Mozart:
01. Regalame Esta Noche (Roberto Cantoral)
02. Andalucia (Ernesto Lecuona)
03. O Vagabundo (Victor Simon)
04. Espere Um Pouco Mais (Waldir Machado)
05. C'est Ça L'amore (Jean Broussolle / Pino Massara)
06. Donde Estará Mi Vida (Antônio Lopes / Quiroga Segovia / Francisco Naranjo Caldera / Ignacio Roman Jimenez)
07. La Violetera (José Padilla / Eduardo Montesinos)
08. At Last (Mack Gordon / Harry Warren)
09. Alguém Me Disse (Jair Amorim / Evaldo Gouveia)
10. Romântica (Renato Rascel / Dino Verde)
11. Arrivederci (Umberto Bindi / Giorgio Calabrese)
12. Noites de Moscou (Vassily Solovyov-Sedoy)
I can't remember that Elmo Barros, the writer of the linear notes, has ever written a longer text than the one you will find on the back cover of this release, alongside a politically incorrect portrait of Mozart with a lit cigarette in his mouth.

Menezes e Seus Melodistas - Cocktail de Melodias (1956)
Mocambo LP 10009
When I first saw this 10' Lp I thought that it is another unlisted album by the famous violão player José Menezes.
A closer look revealed that, although this Menezes' name is also José Menezes, José Menezes and José Menezes are two different musicians and that this José Menezes (or simply Menezes, to quote the linear notes) plays clarinet (on this album, at least).
Anyway, looks like Cocktail de Melodias is José Menezes' only recording and to see what José Menezes looks like, you will have to download the album and take a look at the back cover where a picture of the complete conjunto is printed, together with the linear notes. My guess is that José Menezes is the one sitting and holding the vinyl, while his musicians are probably those standing around him:
Menezes (Clarinete)
Martins (Acordeom)
Torres (Piano)
Martins II (Bateria)
Gerson (Baixo)
Gaúcho do Violão (Violão)
Inaldo (Bongo)
The compositions are:
1. Chão Moiadinho (Antônio Barros) Baião
2. Ritmo Latino (Victor Young) Beguine
3. Body And Soul (Robert B. Sour / Edward Heyman / John W. Green / Frank Eyton) Fox
4. Maluquinho (Menezes) Choro
5. Meu Xodozinho (Neusa Rodrigues / José Menezes "zé Cavaquinho") Baião
6. Saudade (Gaúcho do Violão) Bolero
7. I'll Never Smile Again (Ruth Lowe) Fox
8. Temperado (Inaldo Vilarim / José Menezes) Choro

ABOUT MENEZES by José Teles:
José Menezes was one maestro from Perambuco. He’s a sax player too. He was also a band leader and a composer of frevo, one of the greats. The first record of Gravadora Rozenblit, in 1953, a 78 rpm, got one of his frevos canção, Boneca. He was born in 1924, and passed away in 2013 He made a lot of records, not only Rozenblit, but RCA and other labels.

Comments
I noticed that there were no comments for quite a long time lately which is unusual, so I decided to check it all out by sending a test comment on Parallel Realities just to see what will happen:
I found out that after Blogger changed it's dashboard some time ago, the comment alert is no longer red and immediately visible when opening the dashboard.
Instead one has to first click on COMMENTS to open the comments drop down menu and after that click on AWAITING MODERATION.
Only then the list of all the pending comments appeared and I could approve and publish them.
Sorry for the delay, friends!
