Orquestra Los Romanticos del Caribe - Baile Branco

Continental ZHLP-5401

Los Rómanticos del Caribe is the orchestra directed by our old acquaintance Maestro Ciro Pereira, probably formed (or just ad hoc renamed) in accordance with the music styles recorded on this LP at a date unknown to me.

Romace Caribbean style sounds like:

03. É Fácil Dizer Adeus (Tito Madi)
04. Tu Si'Malinconia (Aurélio Fierro)

Ninguem E de Ninguem No Carnaval (1961)

Caravelle C.E.M. 33006

When I glanced for the first time upon the front cover of this LP I had the impression that 1961 nobody was present at the Carnaval.
Reading the back cover while listening to the music enlightened me:  Ninguém É de Ninguém is the name of the group of musicians performing.

Their premiere on Parallel Realities consists of these song:

01. Ritmo - Bateria do Bloco
02. Chega Prá Cá (Roseni Martins)
03. O Doutor Nao Quer (Ciro de Souza)
04. Vou Procurar (Roseni Martins)
05. É Tarde Menina (Roseni Martins)

Another Great album in my opinion.  NOVI are scatting like crazy birds!!! Nice and fresh bossa themes (sometimes with some Beatles tones as in Nastroje Malych Misiow, sometimes be-bopish samba-jazz in Nastepny Prosze, but often pure delight as Pyzate Sloneczniki or Tanczace Orzechy), all composed by group members.

Haroldo de Almeida - Nosso Romance (1961)

Columbia LPCB 37172

Presenting Haroldo de Almeida for the first time on Parallel Realities, with his, as far as I could find out, only career album, released 1961. He has also recorded several 78 rpms during the period from 1956 to 1961.
Why only one LP is a mystery to me, as Haroldo's voice is pleasant and his way of singing superb. The acompanhamento by Astor e Sua Orquestra is perfect.
By the way, this album was already presented on the net on Raridades Musicais Brasileiras, a fine blog which started very promising, but abruptly stopped posting without any explanation why.
Now we have it in front of us again but this time as a transfer by Pedro from a quite clean LP.

If you have never before heard Haroldo singing, don't hesitate to add Nosso Romance to your collection. I am sure you will enjoy and play these songs over and over:

01. Triste Não (Jorge Smera / Othon Russo)
02. Dia de Nós Dois (Newton Ramalho / Almeida Rego)
03. Receita Pra Sofrer (Hianto de Almeida / Otávio Teixeira)
04. Brinquedo de Você (Hianto de Almeida / Macedo Neto)
05. Chuva Fria (Haroldo de Almeida)
06. Vestido de Adeus (Luis Antônio)
07. Vai de Mim (Hianto de Almeida / Edson Borges)
08. Pedaço de Mau Caminho (Haroldo de Almeida / Hélio Marinho)
09. Neste Mundo de Deus (Hianto de Almeida / Macedo Neto)
10. Hoje Quem Chora Sou Eu (Haroldo de Almeida)
11. Vai Com Deus (Luiz Bandeira / Silvio César)
12. Resto de Vida (Haroldo de Almeida)

Silvio Aleixo - Estreia (1965)

Philips P 632.770 L

The time travelles's delight begins every time he notices that time is, once more, running backward.
Here it is again:
On the 26th of August 2013, in this particular reality we are perceiving together, a 1967 re-edition of the album from 1965 presented today, was posted as a Parallel Realities premiere of singer Silvio Aleixo.
Today, almost a year later, in front of us all is the original album Estreia already presented here as it's re-editon.
Time warps have their own rules, which deform realities when they happen, sometimes slightly and sometimes heavily.
This time, beside a different cover, three songs which were presented then are not present now. Instead of them, three songs which were not presented then are present now.

To ease the confusion, I have printed them out in red:

01. Onde Está Você (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
02. O Que Fui Pra Você (Álvaro Santos)
03. Água Com Areia (Jair Amorim / Jacobina)
04. Duas Contas (Garoto)
05. Iemanjá (José Messias)
06. Preciso Aprender A Ser Só (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sérgio Valle)
07. Fica Mal Com Deus (Geraldo Vandré)

10. Razão de Viver (Eumir Deodato / Paulo Sérgio Valle)

Great album!!! My favorite song here  is Meu Limão, where Pery sounds like Wilson Simonal, lively Agua de Beber and dark Bahia !

About Quinteto:  one can hear a lot of trumpet, this is IMHO Claudinho Roditi. Sometimes (É de Manhã) very nice and sensitive flauta enters…can it be  Altamiro Carrilho???  May be his photo is in cover? Who knows?

Fafa Lemos - Para Amar - Uma selecao por Milan Filipovic (2014)

Parallel Realities Studio PRS PA-001

This is the first album in something that will, maybe, become a series of music in the para amar style, selected according to my faraway Serbian taste and eccentricities.

The particular selection of instrumentals performed by the legendary violin player Fafá Lemos was made to fill a CD with more than one hour of music, thus enabling concentration upon other matters than skipping tracks...

Tonight, sax and clarinet player Luiz Americano has his premiere on Parallel Realities with his second album (out of altogether two + countless 78 rpms) recorded back in 1958.

Frankly speaking, I did not know anything about him and his career, but the long and information-filled text printed on the back cover, written by Elmo Barros, put an end to my ignorance.

Djalma Ferreira e Seus Milionarios do Ritmo - Drink Em Sao Paulo (1960)

Discos Drink DLP DF 13.007

Djalma Ferreira and his immensely rich rhythm section just arrived inside a new package sent by Pedro & 300discos.

A rarity from '58 and Djalma's first album released for his Discos Drink. No Miltinho here, but there is Luiz Bandeira and on one track Lila de Oliveira, Dalva de Oliveira's sister who we have already met several times in another parallel reality.

The heavy drinking atmosphere in the boite Drink recorded on the Discos Drink label may be clearly imagined while enjoying a cool drink and/or while dancing to these compositions:

02. Agradeço a Você (Djalma Ferreira / Luiz Bandeira) Luiz Bandeira e coro
03. Nunca Mais (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César) Lila de Oliveira e coro
04. Vendaval (Djalma Ferreira / Carlos Barroso)
05. St. Louis Blues (William Christopher Handy)

Os Grandes Sucessos dos Anjos do Inferno (1963)

RCA Camden CALB 5071

The vocal group Anjos do Inferno, led by Léo Vilar has it's premiere tonight on Parallel Realities with a compilation (best of) LP released 1963.
Actually, all their LPs that I could find mentioned on the net are either compilations or participations.
The reason is probably because, as far as I could find out, their career lasted from 1937 to 1958. At least it is during that period that they have recorded (countless) 78 rpms.

The back cover features a text about them and their music and also lists the accompanying musicians, but only with their first name. Among them is a certain Papudinho playing piston...

Arrangements and direction of the tracks performed is by Francisco Nepomuceno:

01. Rosa Morena (Dorival Caymmi)
02. Acontece Que Eu Sou Baiano (Dorival Caymmi)
03. Vatapa (Dorival Caymmi)
04. Requebre Que Eu Dou Um Doce (Dorival Caymmi)
05. Voce Ja Foi A Bahia (Dorival Caymmi)
06. Vestido de Bolero (Dorival Caymmi)
07. Chô-Chô (Antonio Almeida / Ciro de Souza)
08. Nega do Cabelo Duro (Rubens Soares / David Nasser)
09. Dolores (Marino Pinto / Alberto Ribeira / Arlindo Marques Júnior)
10. Helena Helena (Antonio Almeida / Constantino Silva)
11. Brasil Pandeiro (Assis Valente)
12. E Ela (Roberto Martins)

famous guitarrista Edgard - a.k.a. Jacó, Jacob or Edgar e Os Tais - Antônio Edgard Gianullo. Tibor (bass) - is immigrant from Hungary Tibor Reisner, also trumpet player, arranger and conductor.
