Nozinho e Sua Orquestra Brasileira de Ritmos - Escolinha do Amor (1957)

Sinter SLP 1747

The last album from the latest package sent by Pedro & 300discos, Nôzinho's second career album Escolinha do Amor, is, contrary to the usual practice on Parallel Realities regarding the release date, posted as the last. The reason is that I wanted to have some additional time to search for the cover on the net.
A task that has proven fruitless.
This search result has it's advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage is that it proves what I suspected:

It is a real rarity.

Needless to say that if somebody passing by has the cover, he is welcome to send it to us and this post will be updated accordingly.

Enjoy:

01. Se Acaso Você Chegasse (Lupicínio Rodrigues / Felisberto Martins)
02. A-i-e (Nôzinho)
03. Valerá a Pena (Dorival Caymmi)
04. Deixa Por Minha Conta (Orlando Costa ''Maestro Cipó'')

Carnaval de 1962 - Vol. 1 (1961)

Continental LPP 3190

The Carnaval '62, released by Continental, had the usual problem that occurs with recordings of the various artists kind:
The zip file got rejected by Depositfiles, so I had to check track by track to identify those that have their DMCA Polar Bear protection fully combat ready.

Jose Luciano, Seu Piano e Seu Ritmo (1957)

Copacabana CLP 11007

The new package sent by Pedro & 300discos has arrived a short time ago and I picked out of it a long sought album (won't tell you which, as not to add my frustration to you) only to run into the Polar Bear protection on Depositfiles after uploading it.

Sorry, but it happens occasionally...

Instead, I quickly picked up another one, recorded by our dear mafioso siciliano  José Luciano, about which I won't have to write a word at this late hour, as Zecalouro has already done it and you may read his text, covering also the front cover controversy, on the usual place where his texts are reprinted: On Órfãos do Loronix.

While asking yourself what album was rejected by Depositfiles, calm down by listening to:

01. Tarde Demais (José Luciano)

Helio Mendes e seu conjunto - Week-end em Guarapari (1963)

MUSIPLAY LPMS 5109 - Estéreo

After a long time, we have finally a "new" album by piano player  Hélio Mendes, who has apparently transformed his pleasant week-end experience in Guarapari into the music recorded on this LP from 1963, which has, thanks to Edson Mendes (claims that he is not a relative of Hélio Mendes), finally turned to red on my Santa Claus list.

Two other albums by Hélio Mendes and his conjunto have their links still working and may be found in another reality.

Spend a relaxed and pleasant week-en by listening to:

Lourdinha Brasil - Musica da Terra (1956)

RGE RLP 004

Last evening the unexpected happened:

My good friends, the notorious blogger blogging under the nom de guerre Aktivista Neumereni and special agent of the secret police Agent Novaković, a notorious playboy, both passionate music fans, dropped by.

So far, this is nothing unusual as they are both frequent visitors at my place, but Aktivista arrived with the transfer of this rarity made in Brazil, which he found and bought for a dime on the Bajlonijeva pijaca, an open air green market where also a flea market is in full action.

I could not believe my eyes: An unknown cantora, on a ten inch recorded in 1956 for RGE!

How it happened to be on a flee market sale in Belgrade is a mystery to us, but there it is.

Further researches conducted immediately have shown that it is her only career album and also that the musical direction is by Henrique Simonetti, while the artistic direction is by Roberto Corte Real.

Enjoy the premiere consisting of these songs:

1. Rei Do Congo (Tradicional / Adpt. Jaime Griz) Maracatu
2. Chirimindé (Tradicional / Adpt. Paixão Cortes / Adpt. Barbosa Lessa) Cantiga
3. Nhapopé (Tradicional) Canção
4. Baiana Dengosa (Elias Salomé / Lopes Rodrigues) Jongo
5. Tatu (Barbosa Lessa / Paixão Cortes) Dansa gaúcha
6. Escravo de Engenho (Xandu) Lamento negro
7. Chimarrita (Tradicional / Rec. Rossini Tavares de Lima) Limpa banco
8. Piá do Mutum (Tradicional) Modinha

Aloysio e Seu Conjunto - Na Ciranda do Samba (1962)

Copacabana CLP 11259

This album has already been posted on Loronix, later reposted on Parallel Realities (the link has expired by now) and now I am posting it again, but this time in form of a transfer and scans by Pedro.
Curiously, out of more than ten career albums Aloysio Figueiredo has released, only three have been brought to light. The other two are also on Parallel Realities (with working links).
So read Zecalouro's text about this release on Órfãos do Loronix and download the other two albums in another parallel reality.

While doing so, take a look at the list of musicians:

Aloysio Figueiredo (organ, arrangements, production)
Cacau (guitar, vocals)
Arruda (drums)
Djalma (bass)
Arnaldo (agogo)
Waldir (pandeiro)
Walter Arruda (tamborim, tumbadora)

Ed Lincoln - Aquarela (1965)

Musidisc Soma 607.6076

Organ player Ed Licoln has been present on Parallel Realities but, up to now, only as sideman. The reason is the usual: All of his albums in my collection have been downloaded from other sites.
Not that Aquarela is a never before on the net album, as it was previously released on Loronix as the first edition, titled Orgão Espectacular (1961 -   Masterpiece Master 11026). You can find it on Órfãos do Loronix together with Zecalouro's text.

Aquarela is a Pedro's transfer and scans of the re-issue by Musidisc, not dated, so I have taken 1961, as it is the date the recording itself was made.

Enjoy:

01. Aquarela do Brasil (Ary Barroso)
02. Locomotion (Joe Loco)
03. Seleção de ''Can-can'' (Cole Porter)
04. Ai Mourrir Pour Toi (Charles Aznavour)
05. Mulher de Trinta (Luis Antônio)
06. Sentimental Journey (Ben Homer / Bud Green / Les Brown)
07. Arrasta a Sandália (Osvaldo Vasques "Baiaco" / Aurélio Gomes)
Não Ponha A Mão (Bucy Moreira / Mutt / Arnô Canegal)
08. Teleco-teco Nº 2 (Nelsinho / Oldemar Magalhães)
09. Hey There (Richard Adler / Jerry Ross)
10. O Amor E A Rosa (Ayres da Costa Pessoa "Pernambuco" / Antônio Maria)
11. That Old Black Magic (Harold Arlen / Johnny Mercer)
12. Vivendo e Aprendendo (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César)

Chantecler CMG 2180

As the second album to be presented today we have the opportunity do meet violin player Germano  and his conjunto for the first time in this parallel reality.

About the in Argentina born German Weinrot "Germano" and his music you may read a nice text on the back cover written by Braz Baccario, which is more informative on the subject than I could ever be, while at the same time enjoying Germano's magical way of performing these beautiful compositions:

01. Haroldo no Choro (Abel Ferreira)
02. The Magnificent Sven (Sete Homens e Um Destino) (E. Bernstein)
03. Um Milhão De Estrelas (Júlio Nagib / Bernardo Cascarelli Jr. "xixa")
04. Carona (A. Miranda)
05. Dinah (Akat / S. Lewis / J. Young)
06. Lua De Mel (Bernardo Cascarelli Jr. "xixa")

P.S. There is actually something I know about Germano which Braz Baccario could only guess at the time he was writing his text on the back cover of Germano's debut album: According to Memoria Musical, Germano has recorded (at least) three more LPs, the latest dated 1983.

P.S. Never heard of Rud Wharton before. Unfortunately Musidisc is notorious for lack of information about the musicians performing, but looks like, judging by the titles of some of his career albums found listed elsewhere, he is a piano player. His discography spans from 1947 to 1956. All of his 9 career albums have been released in 1955 and 1956.

Apresentando Sebastiao Tapajos e Seu Conjunto (1963)

Entré/CBS 4025

So far violão player Sebastião Tapajós could be found in this parallel reality, only as a sideman to other artists.
Now, thanks to our friends Pedro & 300discos, I have the pleasure to finally present him with a career album from 1963, by coincidence, appropriately named: Apresentando Sebastião Tapajós e Seu Conjunto.
Apart from Sebastião himself, his conjunto consists of eight musicians (as can be easily counted from the front cover) + singers Osy Neusa and Luiz Olavo mentioned on the labels, but unfortunately the back cover does not give any credit to anyone of them.
On the other hand, Regina Pesce, colunista social da Folha do Norte has written a text about Sebastião Tapajós and his career (up to the moment of the release of this album, of course).

Tracks performed are:

01. Acaramelado (Roverano / Don Filinto)
02. Sonhar Contigo (Adilson Ramos / Armelindo Leandro) Canta: Osy Neusa
03. Morena (Afonso Monteiro) Canta: Luiz Olavo
