ABOUT NORBERTO MACEDO by Nilton Maia:
The guitarist Norberto Macedo was my guitar teacher during many years and my friend since 1965. He was a great musician, besides very good composer and teacher. Unfortunately he died four years ago (in august 27, 2011).
He had three LPs, three CD’s and one K7 launched, all of them of high quality, besides a guitar method published. One of the LPs was dedicated to Villa-Lobos’s guitar music and was considered one of the best interpretations of this music by whom that had the pleasure to listen it, including some music critics. So, your post can be considered a tribute to Norberto.
If you want to know a little more about Norberto access this blog, please:

He also can be watched in Youtube by this link, playing a “choro” composed for his son Leonardo, when he was a child. In this vídeo Norberto makes a tribute to Leonardo’s memory because he died some years before the video, at the age of 32.

ReplyDeleteI think if i remember right Norberto taught the well known Brazilian guitarist Marcus Llerena-- a gifted and talented guitarist who i had the chance of getting to meet in London UK in the early 90's.
ReplyDeleteThe linked file is not the same as the cover and the text show.
ReplyDeleteSorry. It's other disc
ReplyDeleteHaha looking forward to hearing this album but the link is to the wrong album--a Dixieland band!!!
ReplyDeleteO link do disco do Norberto Macedo é, na verdade, para um link que tem o LP da São Paulo Dixieland Band - homenagem a Robert (de 1876).

Sorry friends, happens sometimes, especially when I schedule posts.
ReplyDeleteThe link is corrected now!
Okay. Thank you, Mr. Milan.
ReplyDeleteBut it was good mistake because it leaves us with another excellent drive: LP of São Paulo Dixieland Band.

On the other hand, that also means that an album scheduled to appear in a few days won't be a surprise to those who have downloaded it by mistake and to those who have read the comments.
