Lauro Miranda e Seu Conjunto (1958)

It should be obvious by now that I have a special interest for the releases of Discos Drink, the label created, as any traveller through this parallel reality knows, by Djalma Ferreira promoting mostly his notorious Drink night club and featuring mostly himself and his conjunto.
Tonight, thanks to Pedro & 300discos I have the pleasure of presenting another one of the Drink releases, narrowing the number of the still not found ones to, as far as I know, only two.

Tonight's Drink release is piano player Lauro Miranda's only career album. Contrary to Miran Presley, playing piano on the previous Drink release, a mysterious personality, later identified as Djalma Ferreira himself recording under a false name, there is apparently no mystery about Lauro Miranda's identity as the back cover shows a clear portrait of him + Carlos Machado, the writer of the linear notes, has done a nice job writing all about him that you might want to know.

Whether convinced of Lauro's identity as Lauro or still suspicious, I suggest that you put this dilemma aside, make yourself a drink and enjoy:

Bossa 4, presented for the first time in this parallel reality have, as far as I could find out, released two albums of which Repeteco is the first.

Recenzija:

Bronzani Slon, roman arhitekte Milana Filipovića, napisan u jednom dahu za svega četrdesetak dana izležavanja u ligeštulu pod suncobranom i uzgrednog pisanja, ostavlja na čitaoca upravo takav utisak.

Kriminalistički roman?

Da, dešava se ubistvo, postoji petnaest osumničenih ali nijedan dokaz. Jasno je da će se na kraju dilema ko je ubica razrešiti ali se to dešava na način koji, ma koliko bio logičan i proizilazio iz svega što se događalo tokom priče, sigurno nećete pogoditi. Kao što nećete pogoditi ni ko je ubica, ma koliko Vam to inače polazilo za rukom u kniževnosti, filmu, pozorištu, politici ili stvarom životu.

Ipak, ta kriminalističko-detektivska fabula je, da upotrebim frazu, samo okvir u kome se odvija događaj komplikujući se iz nivoa u nivo (roman je koncipiran kao video igra i podeljen je na nivoe), a ono što je počelo kao pomalo naivna priča, postaje sve bizarnije i luđe, da bi se pretvorilo u krešendo glorifikacije demokratije, politčke korektnosti, multikulturalnosti, ravnopravnosti i slobode štampe.

Autor sebi dozvoljava još i da, ne prezajući ni od ćega, ubacuje delove dijaloga i uvodi likove iz poznatih filmova, stripova i stvanog života u svoju priču kao i da se u jednom trenutku sam smešta u središte dešavanja.

Uzgred, Filipoviću ni sve ovo nije bilo dovoljno nego je svojevremeno odbio i da se roman lektoriše pre štampanja, uz objašnjenje da je napisan u jednoj od paralelnoj stvarnosti u kojoj važe drugačija pravila, pa i pravopisa, kao i gramatike.

WHO IS MIRIAN? by Frank-Oliver:
The name Mirian Presley is a pseudonym. Even the advertisement in a 1959 Brazilian newspaper mentioned that this is a well known piano player under a pseudonym. In later reviews, many writers say, that it is Djalma Ferrreira himself. But if it is Djalma himself, there is no reason for a pseudonym, because this is Djalma's own record label.
A mystery.

Encontrei este artigo  sôbre Djalma Ferreira na internet   -   Ao sair de cena em Las Vegas (EUA), em 28 de setembro de 2004, aos 91 anos, o pianista e compositor carioca Djalma Ferreira (1913 - 2004) já estava esquecido pelo Brasil. Mas sua música certamente permanecia na memória da juventude dourada dos anos 50 que frequentava a boate Drink, aberta pelo bandleader em Copacabana, no centro da boemia noturna do Rio de Janeiro (RJ). À frente de seu grupo, os Milionários do Ritmo, Djalma Ferreira foi um dos reis dos bailes dos anos dourados com sua música dançante registrada em série de álbuns que ganham suas primeiras reedições em CD em caixa produzida pelo pesquisador musical carioca Marcelo Fróes para seu selo Discobertas com o objetivo de festejar o centenário de nascimento do artista, completado em 5 de maio de 2013. A caixa Drink no Rio de Janeiro etc - Anos 50 embala sete álbuns gravados por Djalma Ferreira e Seus Milionários do Ritmo entre 1953 e 1959, além do disco em que o músico usou o pseudônimo de Mirian Presley. Well, I just found the album in the newest package received from Pedro & 300discos and decided to reprint the complete post, instead of just repairing the link in the other reality.
