After initial problems, the fresh package from
Pedro & 300discos has finally started downloading to my HD.
The first album to be presented out of it is
Pecado, the only recording by tenor sax player
Catelli mentioned on
Memoria Musical.
The back cover displays a detailed, long and poetic text about the
Bolero, mentioning the performer
Catelli with a few words without giving any information about him. About the musicians of his
Conjunto Romântico not a word is lost.
In accordance with the general secrecy is the signature of the text author:
L. G. A. (whatever that might mean or be).
The music is great, the lady on the cover is great and fortunately not too heavily dressed, but that does not solve the mystery:

Pawal). I have not any assumptions about mysterious
Catelli.
It seems to me, it's not any of the two great
Moacyrs (
Silva and
Marques), nor
Sandoval Dias...

"The
last member of the
Orchestra Paulo Uruguay - that was successful in
Petrópolis in the 50 -,
maestro José Edson Cordeiro, suffered a stroke
followed by a massive heart attack and died at eighty on the morning of
Tuesday , the 24th, after being admitted to the hospital two weeks
Azevedo Lima in Niterói . In recent years, the conductor , who was known
by his pseudonym,
Paulo Uruguay, left
Petrópolis and was living in
Cabo Frio. The musician's body was buried yesterday afternoon in the
cemetery
Marui in
Niterói .
In January this year , the Journal has
produced a special report on the
Orchestra Paulo Uruguay in which
José
Edson had still kept alive in the memory of that time lively memories of
the Imperial City. Always connected to music, he was also a member of
the first group of
Canarinhos Petrópolis, from nine to 16, and soon
after was choirmaster for 22 years.
José Edson had at home an antique
piano , who used to play with two other friends . It took forever to
come up the idea of creating a set and logo appeared other components .
In total there were
seven members of the orchestra, beyond which was
the pianist, were part still
Catelli (saxophone),
Helcio (guitar),
Helium (drums),
Sebastian (bass),
Paulo Afonso (percussionist)
and
Luis Alberto (singer), who also died recently".
